The Dauphin Regional Secondary School Clippers senior boys basketball team earned a 59–55 victory over the St. James Jimmies in Winnipeg on January 29, 2026. The quarterfinal win in the LCS Hoops for Hope tournament advances the Dauphin, Manitoba team to the semifinal round.
The game was a close defensive struggle that remained competitive until the final minutes. Coaches Marc Kunza and Dave Matskiw praised their team’s disciplined defense, which limited St. James’ perimeter shooting and helped the Clippers protect a narrow lead down the stretch.
Hosted by Linden Christian School, the LCS Hoops for Hope is a major mid-season test for high school teams from across the province. This win helps the Clippers as they prepare for the Manitoba High Schools Athletic Association (MHSAA) Provincial Championships in March.
The tournament is also a fundraiser for CancerCare Manitoba: gate admissions (reported at $5 per day or $10 for a tournament pass) are donated to CancerCare Manitoba, and proceeds from the event support that cause.
The Clippers are now preparing for their semifinal game, which is scheduled for late on January 30 or the morning of January 31, 2026. The victory represents a significant step for the DRSS program as it continues to establish itself as a top contender in provincial competition.
