On February 2, 2026, James Bezan, Member of Parliament (MP) for Selkirk—Interlake—Eastman, issued a public congratulatory statement to Team Kerri Einarson after the Gimli-based rink claimed its fifth national championship at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
Team Einarson won the final at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, defeating Manitoba’s Kaitlyn Lawes 4–3 in an extra end. This is the fifth Scotties title for skip Kerri Einarson (previous wins: 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023), placing her among the select group of skips with five national championships.
Bezan said the team has made the Interlake region proud and called the rink excellent ambassadors for the community. Their sustained success has also been credited with helping to boost youth registrations in curling programs across the Interlake region.
According to Curling Canada, Team Einarson will represent Canada at the 2026 BKT World Women’s Curling Championship (March 14–22) at WinSport Event Centre in Calgary. The five-time Scotties champions’ roster includes Kerri Einarson (skip), Val Sweeting (third), Shannon Birchard (second), Karlee Burgess (lead), alternate Krysten Karwacki and coach Reid Carruthers.
