On Saturday, February 7, 2026, the town of Swan River, Manitoba, will host a Valentine Market at the Veterans Community Hall to help residents find gifts and support nearby businesses. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the War Veterans Community Hall (119 6th Ave N).

Visitors can expect a variety of items including handmade crafts, home-baked treats, and products from local home-based businesses. Organizers say the market is a way to keep money in the community by shopping with local artisans rather than large retail chains.

Shoppers are encouraged to use Chamber Bucks issued by the Swan Valley Chamber of Commerce to make purchases; the Chamber promotes Chamber Bucks as a way to ensure local dollars stay in the Swan River Valley.

Local news site ValleyBiz has documented the long tradition of craft and market events at the Veterans Community Hall (for example, the annual Calico Corners craft sale) and this year’s market highlights small-business owners from Swan River and nearby communities such as Benito and Bowsman.

To book a table or for more information, contact the War Veterans Community Hall manager, Lana Graham, via the Town of Swan River Recreation Department at 204-734-4141 (as listed on the Town website). Note: some directory listings show an alternate number (204-734-2285); if the line is unanswered, check the Town of Swan River website for the most current contact details.
