Building crews from the MaxxPro Group have begun significant new construction activity in Stonewall, Manitoba. Social media posts from the company published in early February 2026 (Feb. 4–5) show photos and video of active framing and site work that are consistent with a substantial wood‑frame or multi‑family project.

The activity appears likely tied to the Town of Stonewall’s efforts to increase rental housing stock, including the SPRUCE 2025 program that offers incentives for multiple‑family rental developments of five or more units. However, the specific site address and whether this project has received a SPRUCE 2025 incentive or formal Town approval have not been confirmed.

MaxxPro’s public materials indicate the company uses prefabricated wood wall panels built off‑site and delivered for rapid assembly on site. That method allows framing work to continue more quickly through winter months; it can also mean short‑term increases in noise and construction traffic for nearby residents.

Zoning and building permits in Stonewall are administered by the South Interlake Planning District (SIPD). SIPD policy requires a building permit to be submitted and approved before construction, demolition or major repairs may begin, and that permitting process is intended to help align new development with the Town’s longer‑term growth plans, including the community’s 30‑year vision.

While the finished building will add housing options over time, neighbours should expect temporary changes to local parking and road access during the framing and assembly phase. The Town continues to promote projects that expand housing options while seeking to balance Stonewall’s small‑town character with the need for modern services and homes.
