The Carberry Plainsmen senior hockey team has officially clinched a berth in the 2025–26 Tiger Hills Hockey League (THHL) playoffs. Verified on February 5, 2026, recent out-of-town results mean the Plainsmen are now mathematically guaranteed to finish inside the top 12 of the 14-team standings, ensuring post‑season senior hockey returns to Carberry later this month.

The Tiger Hills Hockey League uses a format in which the top 12 of 14 teams qualify for the post‑season. Because teams near the bottom of the standings lost key games, Carberry cannot finish in the bottom two and is safe from elimination. The club has roughly a two‑week window to prepare before the opening round, which is scheduled to begin in late February.

Clinching early gives coaching staff the flexibility to manage veteran minutes and focus on player health heading into a short, high‑stakes series. Goaltender Joel Baron and veterans such as Rylan Veitch have been important contributors for the Plainsmen this season. The team is looking to build on last season, when Carberry reached the opening round of the playoffs.

The Carberry Plains Community Centre is a central hub for the town — which had a population of 1,818 at the 2021 Census — and the return of playoff hockey is likely to increase activity in the community. Local reporting and historical coverage of the Plainsmen note a tradition of strong local support that can be an advantage at home.
