The Town of High River, Alberta, has added four new community events to its 2026 spring calendar to provide residents with more local activities and support downtown businesses. These new programs were created to encourage people to visit the town center during the months leading up to the busy May long weekend.

The new events, which include a women’s forum, a market, an Easter celebration, and a photo festival, were approved by the Town of High River to increase visitor traffic. Town officials hope to see a 30 per cent increase in community participation compared to last spring by offering these activities for free or at a low-cost for families.

The series begins with a professional gathering called The Female Framework on February 19, 2026, followed by the Heart of the Foothills Women’s Showcase on March 7, 2026. Later in the season, the town will host the Easter Eggstravaganza on April 4, 2026, and the Spring Photo Fest on April 25, 2026.

These activities will be held at various local spots, including the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex, the Highwood Memorial Centre, and outdoors along 4th Avenue SW. The Town of High River Parks and Recreation Department is organizing the events to help neighbors connect and provide new opportunities for local volunteers.

The High River Chamber of Commerce is also working with the town to help local shops benefit from the extra foot traffic. By filling the calendar with these new dates, the town aims to support local business owners and ensure there are plenty of things for residents to do close to home this spring.
