The City of Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador, has announced that all municipal buildings will reopen at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. This reopening includes the Summit Centre and the Glacier Arena, allowing residents to return to morning fitness and sports programs after a weather-related delay.

Despite the delayed opening for city buildings, regular garbage and recycling collection will proceed as usual. Residents are encouraged to put their waste out for pickup according to their normal Tuesday schedule without any changes.

City officials are reminding residents to avoid shovelling, plowing, or blowing snow from private driveways and parking lots onto city streets or sidewalks. Keeping the roads clear of extra snow helps city crews maintain safe driving conditions for everyone in the community.

According to winter parking regulations, vehicles are not permitted to park on any street between 1:00 AM and 8:00 AM. This ban also remains in effect for 12 hours after a storm to ensure snow plows have enough room to clear the pavement.

The Summit Centre and Glacier Arena serve as essential resources for the community, hosting daily activities like swimming, skating, and fitness classes. Residents can monitor the local snow plow tracker for the latest updates on road conditions before travelling to these facilities.
