The Mount Pearl Blades girls’ youth hockey team defeated the Paradise Warriors 3-1 in a playoff game on February 24, 2026, at the Glacier Arena in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland and Labrador. This victory allows the local team to move forward in the tournament and keep their season alive at their home rink.

Before entering the playoffs, the Mount Pearl Blades had a successful regular season with a record of 13 wins, 3 losses, and 2 ties. Their final game before the tournament started was a 5-0 win on February 17, 2026, which helped them secure a high spot in the rankings.

The Mount Pearl Minor Hockey Association has been a part of the community since 1975 and operates out of the Glacier and Smallwood arenas. The association focuses on providing organized sports for local youth, and the recent success of the girls’ program shows the growing interest in the sport.

This playoff win means the community can look forward to more local games as the team moves into the next rounds of the tournament. These extra games bring more families to the arena and rely on local volunteers to keep the events running for the players.
