Residents in Milton, Ontario, should prepare for a mix of heavy wind, rain, and snow starting tonight and lasting through the weekend. According to Environment Canada, there is a 40 per cent chance of rain tonight, February 27, 2026, with southwest wind gusts reaching 50 kilometres per hour.

The weather will shift on Saturday night, February 28, 2026, with a 60 per cent chance of snow continuing into Sunday, March 1, 2026. Temperatures are expected to drop significantly by Sunday night, reaching a low of -15°C.

Crews from Milton Public Works will focus on clearing major roads and bus routes first to keep traffic moving. This is a priority for Milton Transit, which previously dealt with service delays during a snowstorm on February 18, 2026.

High winds and tree branches hitting power lines are common causes of local outages, according to Milton Hydro. Residents are also required to clear snow from sidewalks next to their property within 24 hours of a storm ending, as outlined in the town’s winter maintenance rules.

Many people in the community have been following snow removal closely this year, and a January 2026 petition on Change.org asked the town to trial a Snow Gate Program. This initiative would test equipment designed to stop snowplows from blocking residential driveways with piles of snow.
