Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, is expected to see between 5 and 10 centimetres of snow on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, which may cause slippery roads and difficult travel. According to Environment Canada, the snowfall will be paired with gusty winds that could reduce visibility for drivers throughout the day.

Wind speeds are forecast to shift to the north at 30 km/h by Wednesday afternoon. This will bring colder air to the area, with the wind chill making it feel like -12°C after a morning high of -2°C.

As of Tuesday morning, there are no official weather alerts in place for the region. However, the combination of new snow and wind is expected to create hazardous conditions for both morning and afternoon commutes.

Residents should allow for extra travel time and check for road updates from the City of Sault Ste. Marie Public Works. The city maintenance teams manage snow removal on priority routes to help keep traffic moving during winter weather events.
