The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta, is opening its doors to the community for a rare look at the creative process on April 1, 2026. This Open Studios event provides a free and informal way for residents to meet artists and see new work while it is still being developed.
The afternoon features participants from the Early Career Banff Artist in Residence program. Visitors can walk through various workspaces on the campus to witness the development of professional projects in their preliminary stages.
As part of the event, the Walter Phillips Gallery will host an exhibition tour starting at 5:30 PM. This gives attendees a chance to experience both the private studio environment and a formal gallery setting during the same visit.
The Banff Centre was established in 1933 and serves as a hub for artistic development in the Canadian Rockies. These studio tours are designed to make the professional arts more accessible and help locals feel connected to the work happening at the facility.
