The Central Alberta Regional Museums Network is holding a series of local cultural activities until March 19, 2026, across the region, including a special opening in Camrose, Alberta. This week of programming aims to help residents connect with local history through musical performances and educational displays.
On March 17, 2026, the Camrose Heritage Railway Station and Park will host a trial run for its newly named Railway Thrift and Gift shop (formerly the White Elephant Gift Shop). Local residents can visit the station between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM to explore the shop and the historic site.
The station is a designated Provincial Historic Resource that was originally built in 1911. The site is currently maintained and preserved by the volunteer members of the Canadian Northern Society.
Other regional events include a presentation on the health benefits of gardening at the Stony Plain and Parkland Pioneer Museum on March 16, 2026. Dr. Cynthia Zutter, a professor of anthropology from MacEwan University, will lead the discussion about how gardening impacts well-being and our relationship with the soil.
