On March 12, 2026, the Thunder Bay Police Service arrested two local residents and seized illegal drugs after searching a home in the Algoma Street area of Thunder Bay, Ontario. Officers used a search warrant to enter the house following a two-month investigation into suspected drug sales in the neighbourhood.
During the search, police found and took several types of illegal substances, including suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine, and methamphetamine. Officers also seized a stun gun, cash, and items used for selling drugs from the property.
The investigation into the home first began on January 12, 2026. Members of the Intelligence Unit and the Emergency Task Unit worked together to carry out the operation and remove the weapons and drugs from the community.
Robert Nicholson, 48, and Courtney Vandenbroeke, 40, have been charged with possession of substances for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, and possession of proceeds of crime. Both individuals remained in custody after appearing in court for the first time.
