Teenager Stable After Snowmobile Crash at Banff Sunshine Village

A teenage snowboarder was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition after a crash with a snowmobile on March 14, 2026, at Banff Sunshine Village in Alberta. The accident happened at approximately 1 p.m. near the top of the Banff Ave. ski run, in an area located just below the WaWa lift.

Emergency medical workers treated the teenager on the slope before they were moved to a ground ambulance. According to resort officials, the youth remained in stable condition while being driven to the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary for further care.

Management at the resort is currently performing an internal investigation to understand how the collision occurred. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are also reviewing the details of the crash, which involved a resort snowmobile on the active ski trail.
