Ballet Kelowna, the province’s 2024 Artistic Company of the Year, will perform its new show called Vividus: Full of Life on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia, on March 23, 2026.

The performance begins at 7:30 PM at ArtSpring and is part of the community theatre’s 25th anniversary celebrations. The program includes three contemporary works, including a whimsical interpretation of the Carnival of the Animals by Guillaume Côté, former Principal Dancer and Choreographic Associate from the National Ballet of Canada.

According to Ballet Kelowna, the evening also features work by Alysa Pires and Kirsten Wicklund. Pires’ piece, called Vestiges, is a cinematic reflection on human connection, while Wicklund’s piece offers a dreamlike look at longing through ensemble movement.

The visiting dance company is also offering community workshops on March 22 at Antler Ridge Dance Studio. Local residents of all skill levels can join a dance class at 3 PM, while an advanced session for experienced dancers will take place at 4:15 PM to learn pieces from the company’s repertoire.

Artistic Director Simone Orlando has led the company since 2014 and has introduced more than 40 new works during her time there. Tickets for the show range from $10 to $42 to keep the performance accessible for local families.
