The Champagne and Aishihik First Nations (Shadhäla yè Äshèyi Kwädǟn) is inviting local graduates to join its government and community workforce in Haines Junction, Yukon. This ongoing recruitment effort is designed to engage citizens and provide them with professional experience within their own self-governing nation.
The Education Department oversees the initiative alongside various other supports, including the Indigenous Skills Employment and Training Strategy which helps people aged 15 to 64 access training for trades and other long-term careers. The program is part of the nation’s focus on building local capacity following its self-government agreement that was signed on May 29, 1993.
As one of the largest First Nations in the territory with over 1,200 citizens, the government operates its main offices out of the Village of Haines Junction. Young people aged 16 to 23 also have the opportunity to provide input on community decisions through the Nätthè Youth Council.
Interested applicants can find more details through the official announcement or by visiting the main government office. Staff can also be reached directly by phone at (867) 634-4200 for those who want to start their application or ask questions about available opportunities.
