On March 24, 2026, Summerside, Prince Edward Island, native Noah Dobson helped the Montreal Canadiens to a 5-2 victory against the Carolina Hurricanes. The 26-year-old defenceman assisted on the game-winning goal scored by Juraj Slafkovsky as his team rallied back from an early two-goal deficit.
Dobson currently leads the league in blocked shots for the 2025-2026 season with a total of 170. He plays a major role for the team, spending more than 22 minutes on the ice during most games to help stop the opposing team’s best players.
The hockey player moved to Montreal in June 2025 after a trade from the New York Islanders and later signed a long-term contract extension. He is now the highest-paid player on the team, earning an average of $9.5 million per year through the 2032-2033 season.
Dobson grew up playing hockey in Summerside and still returns to his hometown to run an annual charity ball hockey tournament. His professional career began in 2018 when he was a first-round draft pick, and he played 388 games for his previous team before moving to Montreal.
