The Grande Prairie Stompede has officially opened ticket sales for its five-day event running from May 27 to May 31, 2026, at Evergreen Park in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
This year marks the 49th edition of the annual community celebration, which features professional rodeo and the start of the World Professional Chuckwagon Association (WPCA) Pro Tour season. Families can enjoy 44 drivers competing in chuckwagon races, carnival rides from West Coast Amusement, and live music.
The event is one of the largest in Northern Alberta and typically draws about 50,000 people to the area over the course of the week. To help with the costs of hosting the gathering, the City of Grande Prairie approved a $10,000 grant for the organizers in March 2026.
Before the main event begins, a fundraising gala and tarp auction will take place on April 11, 2026, featuring a performance by Duane Steele and the Kings of Country. There is also an ongoing cattle raffle where participants can win a grand prize of $100,000 cash or 25 heifers and one bull on May 30, 2026.
