The City of Yorkton announced that garbage collection, originally scheduled for Friday, April 3, 2026, has been pushed back. The City of Yorkton confirmed the delay on its official website, stating: “Reminder: No garbage pickup Friday, April 3. Pickup is Monday, April 6.”
The City’s Sanitary Landfill at 85 York Road East will also be closed on Friday, April 3, and will reopen on Saturday, April 4. Ottenbreit Sanitation Services, which has handled garbage collection in Yorkton for over 50 years, will collect waste on the new schedule.
Residents are advised to keep their garbage bins at the curb until Monday, April 6, to avoid missed collection. The City charges a $13 per month fee for residential garbage collection as part of utility bills.
