Three players from the Brandon Wheat Kings have been named to the Western Hockey League Eastern Conference All-Star teams for the 2025-26 season. The league announced the honors on March 31, 2026, following a vote conducted by the league’s general managers.
Forward Luke Mistelbacher, a 20-year-old from Steinbach, was named to the First All-Star Team. Mistelbacher joined the Wheat Kings in May 2025 after a trade from the Swift Current Broncos, where he recorded 93 points in 67 games during the 2024-25 season.
Two other members of the team were selected for the Second All-Star Team: forward Jaxon Jacobson and goaltender Filip Ruzicka. Jacobson, a 17-year-old from Brandon, recorded 85 points this season after being selected fifth overall in the 2023 league prospects draft. Ruzicka, an 18-year-old rookie from Trinec, Czechia, finished the season with a 26-14-1-0 record. Standing at 6-foot-7 and 230 pounds, Ruzicka is currently eligible for the 2026 professional draft and is ranked 13th among North American goaltenders.
The recognition comes as the Wheat Kings, who finished the regular season fifth in the Eastern Conference, compete in their first-round playoff series. The team is currently facing a 3-0 deficit in their best-of-seven matchup against the Calgary Hitmen.
