Residents of Haines Junction, Yukon, can look forward to mild and settled weather over the next two weeks, offering favourable conditions for outdoor activities and travel planning throughout the community.
According to The Weather Network, which is operated by Pelmorex Corp., daytime temperatures in the region are expected to reach between 2°C and 5°C from April 4 to April 17, 2026. Overnight lows will range from -5°C to -11°C during this period.
While these daytime highs are slightly below the historical April average of 8°C, the forecast indicates stable conditions with mostly cloudy skies. Minimal precipitation is expected, with only occasional light flurries and accumulations of less than 1cm anticipated. April is typically the driest month of the year for the community of approximately 600 to 824 residents.
Haines Junction, located 158 kilometres west of Whitehorse at the crossroads of the Alaska and Haines highways, serves as the primary gateway to Kluane National Park and Reserve. While the park remains open to the public year-round, visitors should note that the main visitor centre and the Thechàl Dhâl’ Visitor Centre are currently closed for the season and are not expected to reopen until mid-May.
