The Canmore Folk Festival has released tickets for its upcoming 49th edition, inviting music lovers to prepare for the annual event in Canmore, Alberta. The festival is set to take place from August 1 to August 3, 2026, with an additional event planned for July 31.
As the longest-running folk music festival in Alberta, the event remains a cornerstone of the community. It is hosted at Centennial Park, with additional performances held at the Canmore Miners’ Union Hall. The non-profit organization continues its tradition of showcasing over 50 artists across various genres, including folk, Celtic, bluegrass, blues, gospel, roots, and worldbeat music.
The festival relies heavily on community support, with more than 550 volunteers donating over 7,500 hours of time each year. This dedication helps manage the large crowds that visit the town, which typically sees between 19,000 and 21,000 attendees annually, despite Canmore having a population of fewer than 14,000 people.
