The Yorkton Terriers are heading to North Battleford with their best-of-seven semifinal series against the Battlefords North Stars tied at 1-1. The teams split the first two games at the Westland Insurance Arena in Yorkton this past weekend.
The Terriers opened the series on April 3, 2026, with a 3-2 comeback victory. After trailing by two goals, Yorkton rallied in the third period, with Jye Zawatsky scoring the game-winning goal in the third period. The North Stars responded on April 4, 2026, taking Game 2 with a 3-1 win, supported by two third-period goals from Finlay Klippenstein.
The series will continue at the Access Communications Centre in North Battleford for Games 3 and 4, which are set for April 7 and 8, 2026.
Beyond the competition on the ice, Terriers goaltender Callum Creig has been recognized for his contributions to the community. Creig has been named a finalist for the 2025-26 SJHL RBC Community Ambassador Award. The program, which is in its eighth year, highlights players who show leadership and commitment off the ice.
Creig, who regularly volunteers his time coaching youth hockey in Yorkton, including work with the Richardson U11 Terriers and the Dr. Brass Hockey Academy, will see a $1,000 donation made by RBC to a local school as part of his nomination. Terriers head coach Emery Olauson noted that Creig serves as a strong representative for the organization through his volunteer efforts.
