The Tecumseh Farmers Market is returning to Lacasse Park for its second season this year, offering residents a regular opportunity to shop for local goods from June through October. Managed by the Town of Tecumseh Community Recreation Services, the market will take place on the third Sunday of each month.
The 2026 season kicks off on June 21 and will continue on July 19, August 16, September 20, and October 18. Each market day runs from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Lacasse Park, located at 590 Lacasse Blvd. The park provides attendees with free parking, public washrooms, and walking trails.
Following a successful inaugural run in 2025 that featured more than 40 vendors, the town is again focusing on items that are homemade, homegrown, or handmade. To ensure a focus on local businesses, the market prohibits motorized vendor vehicles, such as food trucks, as well as multi-level marketing companies.
Mayor Gary McNamara has championed the initiative as a way to bolster the local economy. According to the town, purchasing goods at the market helps support local small businesses and contributes to a more connected community.
Vendor registration for the upcoming season opened in mid-January. Those interested in participating can apply through the town website, with fees set at $50 per market date or $250 for the full season, plus an optional power surcharge.
The Tecumseh Business Improvement Area continues to support the market, which remains an important fixture on the local event calendar despite the weather-related cancellation of the final date last October.
