Residents of Kingston, Ontario, will have the chance to take part in the excitement of the upcoming FIFA World Cup this summer. The city has been selected as one of 34 communities across the country to host a free, family-friendly celebration on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
The event will take place at Springer Market Square in the heart of downtown. Organizers have planned an all-day fan zone that will feature live screenings of tournament matches, a pop-up football pitch for interactive games, cultural programming, live entertainment, and various food and beverage options.
This gathering is part of the Canada Celebrates tour, a series of events taking place from June 1 to July 19, 2026. The national tour aims to bring the energy of the world tournament to fans across the country, with locations chosen to be within a two-hour drive of more than 75% of Canadian residents.
The 2026 tournament, which is being co-hosted by Canada, the United States, and Mexico, stands as the largest in history. It will feature 48 teams competing in 104 matches across 16 cities. Canada will host 13 of these matches, with games held in Toronto and Vancouver. These events mark a historic moment for the country, as it will be the first time men’s tournament matches have been held on Canadian soil.
Canada’s national men’s team, managed by Canada Soccer, is currently set to play its group stage matches throughout June, including games in Toronto and Vancouver. The national team’s journey towards hosting began on August 31, 2018, when Canada was officially awarded co-hosting rights during the 67th FIFA Congress.
