RRC Polytech has announced the upcoming start dates for five full-time programs at its Interlake and Peguis – Fisher River Campus, providing new opportunities for residents to pursue career training this year.
Students can apply for programs beginning in late August and early September 2026. The available courses include Business Administration starting August 24, Health Care Aide starting August 24, Business, Accounting and Management starting August 31, Early Childhood Education Workplace starting August 31, and an Educational Assistant program starting September 2.
These offerings are designed to help students meet local industry needs, including a high demand for trained early childhood educators across Manitoba. To help lower barriers to education, the institution also launched a permanent, year-round free application initiative for Indigenous learners, including First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students. This initiative follows successful pilot programs in previous years that generated hundreds of applications.
Beyond classroom-based learning, the campus continues to operate mobile training labs that bring hands-on trades experience directly to the community. These labs offer training in areas such as automotive repair, carpentry, electrical, machining, pipe fitting, plumbing, welding, and industrial mechanics. The facility space is equipped to accommodate up to 12 students at a time, providing a practical way for learners to develop skills in high-demand trades.
The Peguis – Fisher River Campus serves the Interlake and North Eastman region, located near the Peguis First Nation, which is the largest First Nation community in Manitoba. According to institutional data, RRC Polytech graduates have a 93 per cent satisfaction rate and a 95 per cent employment rate, reflecting the effectiveness of these community-focused training models.
