The Summerside Community Choir is set to host its upcoming spring concert, titled This Land of Ours, on Sunday, April 26, 2026. The performance will take place at 3:00 PM at Trinity United Church, located at 90 Spring St. in Summerside, Prince Edward Island.
The concert program features a variety of Canadian-themed music, including selections such as Homeward Bound, This Is My Home, and You Raise Me Up. These pieces were chosen to reflect themes of home, movement, and connection, showcasing the choir’s focus on music that highlights a shared spirit.
As Prince Edward Island’s longest-running community choir, the non-profit organization continues a tradition that began in 1978 when it was founded by Bill Leuty. Under the leadership of Musical Director John Wervers, who was appointed in August 2024, the group consists of approximately 60 to 76 mixed-voice singers. The choir operates as a registered charitable organization and maintains an open-membership policy, allowing singers to join without a formal audition.
Tickets for the event are $20 each, and children under the age of 12 are admitted for free. Tickets have been available for purchase since April 1, 2026, and can be bought online at the choir’s official ticketing page or at the door on the day of the concert.
This event follows the choir’s most successful performance to date, which took place in December 2025 and drew an audience of approximately 500 people to Trinity United Church.
