Residents in Peguis, Manitoba have until May 22, 2026, to register for the upcoming Elders Gathering 2026. Hosted by Peguis Child and Family Services, the event is designed to bring together community elders for cultural connection and knowledge sharing.
Registration for the gathering opened on April 30, 2026. The organization, which has been serving the members of Peguis First Nation since 1999, is managing the process for the event.
Those interested in participating can sign up by calling the Winnipeg office at 204-632-5404 or by sending an email to [email protected]. Due to a high volume of calls, staff may not be able to answer immediately. If callers reach a busy line, they are encouraged to leave their name and phone number so the event team can return their call as soon as possible.
Peguis First Nation is the largest First Nation community in Manitoba, with a population of approximately 10,246 people of Ojibway and Cree descent. The community is located in Treaty 1 territory within the Interlake Region, approximately 190 km north of Winnipeg.
The Elders Gathering is part of the organization’s ongoing efforts to provide culturally relevant services to the community. Previous gatherings have been held to celebrate and learn from the community’s knowledge keepers.
