Visitors to Haines Junction, Yukon, will have new ways to explore the region this summer and fall as Travel Yukon introduces expanded tourism packages for 2026. These updates aim to highlight the area’s natural beauty while supporting the growing local hospitality sector.
Among the new offerings is an 8-day Yukon Highlights tour, which is available from June 6 to September 30, 2026. The package, operated by EPIC NORTH Tour Experiences, starts at $4,740 per person and can be booked through the official territorial tourism platform.
Travelers are also encouraged to explore the Klondike Kluane Loop. This approximately 950-kilometre driving route connects Whitehorse, Dawson City, parts of Alaska, and Kluane National Park and Reserve. As one of the territory’s most popular destinations, the park saw approximately 47,100 visitors during the 2022/23 fiscal year.
For the village of Haines Junction, which had an estimated population of 1,069 in 2025, these tourism initiatives play a role in the local economy. The Champagne and Aishihik First Nations continue to be central to this activity, operating the Da Kų Cultural Centre. The facility houses both the Parks Canada visitor centre and the territorial government’s visitor information services.
Local infrastructure is also adapting to the influx of visitors. In February 2024, resident Isabelle Piché launched Adventure Time, a shuttle and tour service created to bridge transportation gaps for those visiting the Village of Haines Junction. These developments coincide with a broader trend in the territory, where tourism-related business revenue reached a record $560 million in 2024, a 45 percent increase from 2019 figures.
