Residents of Dawson Creek can head to the Kiwanis Performing Arts Centre on June 6, 2026, for a day dedicated to Pokémon gaming. The community event, organized by Evan Rice and the CreekCon team, offers both competitive tournament play and opportunities for beginners to learn the game.
The Pokémon Tournament & Learn to Play Event begins at 10:30 a.m. with a free session designed for new players of all ages, which runs until 12:00 p.m. Following this, the competitive tournament will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Organizers note that the tournament will be played in the standard format. Entry fees for the competitive brackets are set at $5 for junior and senior players, and $10 for the masters bracket.
While the event is focused on gaming, organizers clarified that it is not an official event and will not award championship points. In addition to the tournament, the venue will feature card and collectible vendors, a trading pit, and designated areas for casual play. Spectators are encouraged to attend and watch the festivities.
The event is hosted at the arts centre located at 10401 10 St., a facility that has served as a hub for community programming since 1986. This gathering follows a previous comic and sci-fi convention hosted by the same organizers at the site earlier this year.
