Volunteers are invited to help beautify the downtown core of Summerside, Prince Edward Island, during a community cleanup event organized by Downtown Summerside, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting businesses in the area. The initiative encourages residents to come together to support the local business district, with a social gathering at Evermoore Brewing Co. serving as a thank-you to all who participate.
Following the cleanup, volunteers will be treated to a complimentary barbecue and ice cream at the brewery, located in the historic 1927 train station building at 192 Water Street.
This cleanup effort aligns with broader work currently underway to improve the city centre. The City of Summerside has reserved $1 million in its 2026-27 budget for revitalization projects as part of the Downtown Waterfront Transformation Initiative, which was launched in 2024 and is co-chaired by Coun. Cory Snow.
Evermoore Brewing Co. owner Alex Clark, who has a history of organizing community-focused events, will host the post-cleanup celebration. Clark previously received the Greater Summerside Chamber of Commerce Community Impact Award in 2021 for initiatives such as the Summerside Craft Trail, which raised more than $4,200 for Three Oaks Senior High.
