A new free outdoor music series is bringing live local performances to downtown Orangeville every Saturday starting July 18. The Downtown Orangeville BIA has announced “Summer Sounds,” a seven-week run of Saturday concerts that wraps up August 29, 2026, and organizers hope it will draw residents and visitors into the heart of the community to shop, eat, and enjoy homegrown talent.
Musicians will play at multiple outdoor stages throughout the downtown core, including the Broadway Music Stage at 299 Broadway, the Farmers’ Market Stage on Second Street, and spots at 75 Broadway, Mill Street by the Taphouse, 5 Little York Street, and the Aardvark Music Stage at 145 Broadway. The lineup features a mix of local acts such as Shelly Hawley Yan, Edie Wilson, Caleb & Keegan, MIP, Heather Katz, Matthew Brake, Greg Kowalczyk, Abby Groves, and Jon Giles.
The Saturday performances will run alongside the weekly Orangeville Farmers’ Market, giving market-goers a chance to pick up fresh produce and handmade goods while taking in the music. The BIA, which represents more than 300 businesses and over 150 commercial properties, sees Summer Sounds as a way to keep downtown bustling through the summer months.
Summer Sounds follows the 22nd edition of the Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival, which ran June 5 to 7 and was recognized as one of Ontario’s Top 100 Festivals for the 13th year in a row. The new series builds on the BIA’s earlier outdoor concerts, expanding from a single park to multiple stages across the downtown.
Orangeville sits about an hour north of Toronto and is the largest urban centre in Dufferin County, its growing population now estimated at more than 30,000. The BIA, created in 1978 to help independent businesses compete with shopping malls, runs a slate of annual events alongside Summer Sounds, including the farmers’ market, Taste of Orangeville, Boo on Broadway, and the Tree Lighting and Santa Claus Parade.
