After a cool morning, the Sarnia Chris Hadfield Airport reported 17.1 C and sunny skies at 2 p.m. on Monday. Winds from the north at 20 km/h, gusting to 40 km/h, are forecast this afternoon, keeping areas near Lake Huron cooler at about 17 C. Inland areas will see highs of 23 C. (At 2 p.m., the wind was observed at 18 km/h from the north.)
The UV index is very high at 8 both Monday and Tuesday. Environment Canada suggests residents use sun protection if they are heading outdoors.
Temperatures keep climbing through the week: Tuesday hits 22 C, Wednesday 25 C, and Thursday 28 C. Overnight lows range from 9 C to 19 C. The normal high for Sarnia in June is 24 C, so midweek will feel a few degrees warmer than usual.
The sunny stretch ends Friday when clouds move in with a high of 28 C. Saturday and Sunday bring a mix of sun and cloud with a 40 percent chance of showers and highs of 25 C.
