A stretch of Humboldt Parkway in Port Colborne will be closed for four days starting next week so crews can install new water, sanitary, and storm service connections. The closure runs from Monday, June 1 through Thursday, June 4, 2026, between Killaly Street East and Crescent Avenue.
Local traffic will still be able to get through the area using a posted detour. The City of Port Colborne is asking drivers to plan ahead and use alternate routes where possible.
The work is part of ongoing infrastructure upgrades in the city, which has been putting significant money into water, wastewater, and stormwater systems. In 2026 alone, Port Colborne secured $19.25 million in federal funding for improvements, including projects along Killaly Street East to support new housing development.
This same section of Humboldt Parkway was closed for similar utility work in June 2025. The city’s 2026 budget also set aside $6 million over three years for watermain lining and $1.95 million for wastewater engineering design in the Sugarloaf neighbourhood and Highway 140 area.
Anyone with questions about the closure can call the City of Port Colborne at 905-835-2900. For after-hours Public Works emergencies, residents can call 905-835-2900 and press ‘9’ to reach dispatch.
