Garden Hill, Manitoba is set for a warm and sunny start to the week before a weather system moves in, bringing rain and much cooler temperatures, says Environment Canada. The shift means residents should enjoy the early-week heat while it lasts.
Monday afternoon is already feeling the warmth, with Island Lake Airport recording a temperature of 25.4°C and a Humidex of 31 at noon. Cloudy skies and a 30 per cent chance of showers with a risk of thunderstorm are in the forecast, but skies are expected to clear tonight as temperatures dip to 15°C.
Tuesday will bring the week’s peak warmth. Forecasters are calling for sunny skies and a high of 27°C, with a high UV index of 7. That heat will be short-lived, however, as rain is expected to begin Tuesday night, with a low of 14°C.
Rain is set to stick around from Wednesday through Saturday. Wednesday will see periods of rain and a high of 19°C, but temperatures will fall further as the week continues. Thursday’s high is forecast at just 14°C, with rain continuing.
Friday is expected to be the coolest day, with showers and a high of only 12°C. A gradual warm-up begins Saturday, with a high of 16°C and a mix of sun and cloud, though a chance of showers remains. Sunday should see similar conditions, with a high near 15°C.
