The annual Rotary Pro Rodeo Parade will fill downtown Innisfail with floats, horses, and community groups on Saturday, June 13, 2026, kicking off rodeo weekend. The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. and is expected to run until approximately 12:30 p.m. Residents should note the route has changed this year due to construction.
According to the Town of Innisfail, the new route starts at 49 Street and 51 Avenue, heads north to 50 Street, then east and south on 50 Avenue. It turns west on 40 Street, north on 52 Avenue, and ends at 52 Avenue and 42 Street. Viewers are encouraged to plan their spots early along the updated path.
Parade coordinator Dani Rain expects about 45 registered floats for this year’s event, down from the record 66 entries in 2025. Last year’s parade stretched roughly an hour and 15 minutes, the longest in memory. Rain says the Rotary Club of Innisfail welcomes all participants who are respectful and family-friendly.
Among the entries is Thomas Lukaszuk, a prominent figure with the Forever Canadian movement, who will ride his Unity Bus. Town councillors Jason Heistad and Janice Wing, both local volunteers for the movement, helped arrange the participation. Past parades have drawn notable leaders, including Premier Danielle Smith in 2023.
The parade coincides with the 65th annual Daines Ranch Pro Rodeo, running June 11-13 at the Daines Ranch north of town. Early risers can attend a pancake breakfast hosted by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #104 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on parade day. The meal costs $5, with kids 6 and under eating free. Residents can expect a lively morning and a true start to summer in central Alberta.
