Orangeville will mark Canada Day with a free afternoon of family fun and entertainment at the Alder Recreation Centre on July 1, 2026. The main event runs from 11:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features the Great Canadian Lumberjacks show on the red rink, with four lumberjacks competing in axe throwing, chainsaw carving, crosscut saw races, and more high-energy loggersport events. A drone light show at 10 p.m. caps the celebration at Murray’s Mountain — the Town’s official website lists fireworks at Island Lake, so please confirm the final plan with the municipality.
Families can also hit the pools for a free swim, let kids loose in an inflatable zone, join soccer activities, or get their faces painted. The rec centre’s pools completed a $4.3-million, three-year renovation in May 2024 that added an eight-lane lap pool, a refreshed leisure pool, and a new indoor water play area, so the upgraded facility remains a draw for residents.
At 10 p.m., the party moves to Murray’s Mountain park at 50 Clara Street, beside Orangeville District Secondary School. A choreographed drone show by Toronto’s Illumin will send 250 drones into the night sky in what the town calls a cinematic light performance — replacing the usual Island Lake fireworks. The switch puts Orangeville among a growing list of Canadian municipalities choosing quieter, environmentally friendlier celebrations.
The park is maintained by the Orangeville Lions Club, the same group that helped fund the Tony Rose Memorial Arena and built the town’s first BMX park. All Canada Day activities are free and open to everyone.
