Garden Hill residents should keep an eye on the sky Monday as a risk of thunderstorms moves through the area, followed by a warm and mostly sunny rest of the week.
According to Environment Canada, showers or thunderstorms are expected throughout the day on July 6, with a high of 21°C. A southwest wind at 20 km/h will make it feel closer to 25 with the humidity.
The strongest storm potential arrives in the afternoon and evening. The Weather Network shows a 70% chance of thunderstorms by 5 p.m., dropping to a 40% chance of strong thunderstorms by 6 p.m. Severe storms in Manitoba could pack wind gusts up to 100 km/h and hail between 2 cm and 4 cm, though these threats cover a broad region and may not hit the community directly.
The unsettled weather is part of a larger severe storm threat across Manitoba and northwestern Ontario, where a tornado watch is in effect for parts of southeastern Manitoba. By Tuesday, conditions improve dramatically. Environment Canada calls for sunny skies, a high of 24°C, and a humidex making it feel like 27.
The fair weather sticks around through midweek: Wednesday will be sunny with a high of 25°C, and Thursday brings a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 24°C. Showers return briefly on Friday with a high of 22°C before clearing again Saturday for a mix of sun and cloud and a warm 27°C. The seasonal high for early July in Garden Hill is usually 22°C, so every day after Monday lands right at or above that mark.
