Northern Health has posted several new healthcare jobs in Dawson Creek, British Columbia, as the health authority builds its team for the new Dawson Creek and District Hospital set to open in Spring 2027. The postings include two occupational therapist positions, which appeared on July 7, 2026, paying up to $56.17 an hour, and a clinical pharmacist role, posted June 25, with a top wage of $68.10 an hour.
Other available roles include a pharmacy assistant, dental hygienist, environmental services worker, and community health worker. The job ads are listed on both the Northern Health careers portal and the federal government’s Job Bank.
The new hospital is a $590-million project that is more than 50 per cent larger than the current building. It will have 70 beds, up from 46, and 15 emergency treatment spaces compared to 10 now. Construction reached substantial completion on September 29, 2026, two months ahead of schedule.
To help fill the jobs, Northern Health is offering a Rural and Remote Recruitment Incentive of up to $30,000 for some positions. Eligible workers must sign a contract and begin work by September 30, 2026, and commit to staying for two years. The health authority also covers relocation costs.
Staffing has been a challenge in the region. The current emergency department had to close overnight in March 2026 because of a shortage. The new facility and the latest round of hiring aim to prevent those disruptions and bring more stable care to the Peace Region.
