Innisfail is set for a stretch of warm, sunny weather this week, according to Environment Canada. Daytime highs will climb into the mid-to-upper 20s, with the warmest days expected Thursday through Saturday.
Monday started sunny, with a temperature of 20.7°C at the Red Deer Regional Airport by early afternoon. The rest of the day will see a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 24°C. Tuesday will be sunny with a high of 26°C, but the UV index is forecast to reach 8, or very high. That means anyone spending time outdoors should limit sun exposure between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., wear UV-protective sunglasses, seek shade, and reapply sunscreen every two hours.
The sunny trend continues through most of the week. Wednesday brings a 40 percent chance of showers and a high of 25°C. Thursday and Friday are both expected to be sunny with highs of 28°C. Saturday looks like the warmest day at 29°C under sunny skies. Sunday will be a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 percent chance of showers and a high of 28°C.
Nighttime temperatures will be comfortable, dipping to between 10°C and 13°C. After tonight’s low of 10°C, overnight lows will hover around 12 or 13°C Tuesday through Saturday, with clear skies most nights.
No weather alerts are in effect for the area. The warm and mostly dry conditions line up with the broader summer forecast for Alberta, which is shaping up to be warmer than normal with below-normal precipitation across much of the province.
