Slave Lake RCMP are asking for the public’s help to identify two male suspects after a generator was stolen from the back of a pickup truck outside the Fairways in Slave Lake, Alberta on July 7, 2026.
The theft took place at around 4:56 p.m. in the parking lot at 1200 Main St S, next to the Slave Lake Inn and Conference Centre. Video surveillance captured two male suspects removing the generator from the truck before fleeing in a white Dodge Ram pickup with a black canopy.
Investigators have released photos of the suspects and the suspect vehicle to the public. Anyone who recognizes the individuals or the truck is urged to contact the Slave Lake RCMP at 780-849-3999. This incident follows a pattern of property crimes across northern Alberta. In 2025, RCMP in the province reported 7,214 stolen motor vehicles and 5,134 thefts from vehicles, with half-ton trucks being the most commonly targeted. The Slave Lake RCMP Crime Reduction Unit, led by Staff Sergeant Casey Bruyns, has been active throughout 2026 in apprehending repeat offenders, including arrests related to weapons offences and court order violations.
Residents with any information that could assist the investigation are encouraged to come forward, even if they wish to stay anonymous.
