Tecumseh shoppers can score a deal on local gift cards next month. The Tecumseh BIA is bringing back its popular Tecumseh Dollars sale for one day only on August 25, 2026. The sale runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., or while supplies last.
During the event, customers can buy Tecumseh Dollars gift cards at a 20 percent discount. The special applies to orders between $50 and $250, with a maximum purchase of $250. Online orders also get free shipping.
The gift cards can be used at more than 50 local businesses throughout the downtown core. That includes restaurants, boutiques, and service shops. The program is designed to keep spending within the community and support independent businesses.
Last year, the BIA made a change to focus the program more directly on small local operators. As of August 1, 2025, Zehrs and Shoppers Drug Mart stopped accepting Tecumseh Dollars. The move was made to ensure the program supports independent businesses and encourages shopping small.
The Tecumseh Dollars gift cards are issued by Peoples Trust Company. They do not expire, but they are non-reloadable and have no cash access. The BIA warns that previous sales have sold out quickly, so interested shoppers should act fast.
The Tecumseh BIA is a not-for-profit group of business and property owners that works with the town to support the local retail and service sectors. More details about the sale and participating businesses are available on the BIA website.
