Sherwood Park residents looking for work have until early August to apply for one of 13 job openings at Strathcona County, a local employer recently named one of Alberta’s Top 85 Employers for 2026 and one of Canada’s Best Employers by Forbes.
The postings span emergency services, finance, technology, utilities, and transit. New roles include a Watch Clerk, an Internal Controls and Risk Administrative Coordinator, and an Accounting Analyst, while ongoing searches continue for a Transit Service Delivery Supervisor, Advanced Care Paramedic Firefighters, and a Facility Maintenance Operator III. Application deadlines range from July 27 to August 10, 2026.
As a major employer in the region, the County serves more than 103,800 residents and employs over 2,500 people. Its integrated emergency services model requires firefighters to also be trained as paramedics. The County recently agreed to a new provincial EMS contract that will cost an estimated $2.3 million a year to keep the integrated ambulance service running locally.
