Red Deer, Alberta will enjoy a stretch of sunny, warm weather through Saturday, but Environment Canada says a change is coming. A weather system is expected to bring clouds and a 60 percent chance of showers starting Saturday night, with cooler, wetter conditions settling in for Sunday and Monday.
Friday marks the start of the pleasant spell with sunny skies and a high of 25 C. Saturday stays sunny with a high of 24 C before the clouds roll in overnight. Sunday and Monday will see highs drop to 19 C, with cloudy skies and a 40 to 60 percent chance of showers each day.
These temperatures are right around the seasonal norm for Red Deer in August, when the average high is 23 C and the average low is 10 C. As of Wednesday afternoon, conditions at the Red Deer Regional Airport were mainly sunny at 22.2 C with comfortable humidity levels.
Residents planning outdoor activities this weekend should take advantage of the sunny Friday and Saturday. Once the wetter weather arrives Sunday, it could last into early next week.
