A Thunder Bay man is in custody after police responded to a call in the Inglewood Crescent area and seized an edged weapon along with suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine, and oxycodone.
The Thunder Bay Police Service says officers were sent to the Inglewood Crescent area on July 18, 2026. At the scene, they found and took an edged weapon. A search of the suspect turned up quantities of what they believe are the three drugs.
As a result, 48-year-old Adam Thompson of Thunder Bay faces five charges: assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking, and failing to comply with a probation order.
Thompson was held in custody after his first court appearance. The investigation was led by the police service’s Primary Response Unit, the branch that handles front-line emergency calls including patrols, the emergency task unit, and the canine unit.
Under Canadian law, trafficking a Schedule 1 substance—which includes drugs like fentanyl and oxycodone—can lead to a maximum sentence of life in prison.
