Red Deer residents can now sign up for a new season of city-run arts and recreation programs, with registration for fall activities opening at noon today, Wednesday, August 12. The City of Red Deer’s fall lineup includes swimming lessons, licensed preschool programs, fitness and wellness classes, arts and culture sessions, and a variety of day camps, all beginning in September.
New program options are available to browse on the My Activity Guide, the city’s online tool for viewing registered programs. Residents can register through the same platform or via Look’n Book, by phone at 403-309-8411, or in person at the Collicutt Centre, G.H. Dawe Community Centre, Recreation Centre, or Michener Aquatic Centre.
Those who register online should note that confirmation emails are sent within 24 hours, not immediately, to help reduce strain on the city’s online systems during high-demand periods. The fall season typically draws strong interest from families looking to enrol children in swimming lessons and from adults seeking fitness and creative programs.
With more than 100,000 residents, Red Deer is Alberta’s third-largest city, and its four major recreation facilities offer different specialties. The Collicutt Centre in the south, for example, features a pool, waterslides, and a climbing wall, while the G.H. Dawe Community Centre in the north includes a water park and arena. The Michener Aquatic Centre focuses on swimming lessons and aquatic programs.
