Redcliff, Alberta drivers have been navigating new stop sign patterns at two intersections since Friday, August 28, 2026. The Town of Redcliff Planning and Operations Department made the traffic control changes, and motorists and pedestrians have been adjusting to the new rules.
The four-way stop at Broadway Avenue West and 6 Street S.W. is now a two-way stop. At the same time, the two-way stop at 4 Avenue S.E. and 3 Street S.E. became a four-way stop.
The town issued a public notice on its website ahead of the change, advising residents, drivers, and pedestrians to use extra caution, watch for new signage, and follow the updated traffic controls during the transition.
The changes were made by the Planning and Operations Department as part of ongoing infrastructure management. The town selected a Friday for the switch to give drivers the weekend to become familiar with the new intersection layouts before the regular work week began.
Local officials continue to encourage everyone to remain patient and alert as the community adapts to the updated stop sign configurations.
