The Barrhead Beef Bash is expanding to a two-day event in 2026, with the show set for September 26 and 27 in Barrhead, Alberta. The Barrhead Agricultural Society announced the change, saying the move comes after a strong response from exhibitors and aims to create more space in the barns.
Saturday, September 26 will be dedicated to the junior show, while Sunday, September 27 will feature the open show. No open show cattle will be allowed in the barn on Saturday unless they are also entered in the junior show.
Stalling for animals will be assigned this year, another change designed to keep things organized with the larger crowd. The event has seen steady growth, with more than 80 contestants and 150 animals taking part in 2024.
The Beef Bash continues to serve as a qualifier for the Farmfair International Supreme, Alberta’s largest beef cattle show held each November in Edmonton. Champions at Barrhead also qualify for the Alberta High Point Series.
