Residents of Sault Ste. Marie will have four chances to shop local for the holidays as the Soo MRKT brings back its Thursday evening markets this November and December.

The holiday markets will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on November 19, December 3, December 10, and December 17 at 73 Brock Street, right in the heart of downtown Sault Ste. Marie. The evening markets replace the summer Thursday market season, giving shoppers a chance to pick up seasonal produce, handmade gifts, and artisan goods after work.

Soo MRKT, formerly known as Mill Market, is a not-for-profit farmers’ market that connects local farmers, ranchers, fishers, artisans, and food vendors with consumers. The market moved to its permanent home at 73 Brock Street in September 2023 after operating at the old fish hatchery on Canal Drive since 2014.

The holiday evening markets are part of Soo MRKT’s year-round schedule. The market also runs every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with up to 41 vendors from across the Algoma District, including Prince Township, St. Joseph Island, Echo Bay, Desbarats, and Thessalon.
