Summerside, Prince Edward Island is in for a mild mid-September week, with daytime highs climbing to near 20°C and only scattered evening showers expected, according to Environment Canada.
The forecast calls for mainly sunny skies Tuesday with a high of 17°C, then sunny conditions Wednesday at 19°C. Thursday and Friday will bring a mix of sun and cloud, also reaching 19°C. Evening lows will dip to between 9 and 15°C through the week.
Showers could dampen Monday evening, with a 30 percent chance, and again Thursday night with a 60 percent chance. Sunday is expected to bring showers with a high of 16°C. No weather alerts are currently in effect for the area.
These conditions are close to normal for this time of year. Summerside’s September average high is 18°C and low is 10°C, with about 97 millimetres of rain over 13 days, based on 1981-2010 climate data from Environment Canada.
Residents can plan outdoor activities through much of the week, though keeping an umbrella handy for evening showers is a good idea.
